Call 503.239.9663 for current pricing and inventory

Douglas Fir is the official state tree of Oregon and is an incredibly important resource, both economically and environmentally. Douglas fir is a significant building material sought for its strength and structural integrity and used decoratively for its beautiful grain patterns in shades of honey, cream and reddish brown.

PLACE
Our Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) is exclusively sourced from local, FSC® Certified mills in the Pacific Northwest.  Certification through the Forest Stewardship Council™ is the best way to ensure responsible sourcing and forest management practices that are environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable.

PURPOSE
Douglas fir is commonly used for structural framing in residential and commercial construction.  It is also a popular choice for flooring, butcher block, trim, wall & ceiling cladding, and exterior siding. While it is a relatively soft wood, with proper care and maintenance, it can last for generations, as seen in the bevy of historic Portland homes utilizing this beautiful local wood.

PEOPLE
Sourcing from a network of local forest owners, mills, and fabricators supports a thriving local economy.  Your purchases of FSC Certified lumber helps ensure the long term resilience of our forests and communities.
