Join us October 29 530-730pm for the Good Wood Celebration at Sustainable Northwest Wood.

Our Why

We aim to make finding local, sustainable wood products easy and to be a bridge between responsible sourcing and the built environment. We believe it is not only possible, but also vital, to protect and restore ecosystems, to salvage and upcycle wood from the waste stream, and create economic opportunities when supplying the wood products our community needs. And have some fun doing it.

We do what we do BECAUSE... we care about OUR FOOTPRINT on this special place we call home.... choosing PEOPLE BEFORE PROFITS leads to PROSPERITY for ALL.... when we source and SHOP LOCAL, it benefits our communities, reduces our carbon footprint, and creates local jobs... CLIMATE CHANGE is real and we must do our part individually and as a business... forests can STORE MORE CARBON when trees grow for longer periods... people need CLEAN AIR and CLEAN WATER to survive, and we know healthy forests are vital to those ecosystem services... industry workforce deserves a LIVING WAGE... climate justice is SOCIAL JUSTICE... PROTECTING WILDLIFE HABITAT and preserving wild places helps ensure future generations will also have them to enjoy... re-using, recycling, reclaiming and re-imagining wood waste helps REDUCE the demand for virgin material... WILDFIRES are an inevitable feature of Pacific Northwest forests and RESTORATION can help our forests live in harmony with fire... we want to GIVE BACK to the land and the forests and the people that provide us with so much... How about YOU? What's YOUR WHY?
