PLACE
Responsibly sourced from FSC® certified woodlands, salvaged from restoration projects or the forest harvesting waste stream throughout the Northwest. The mineral content in our region's soil imbues these woods with rich colors and dramatic grain patterns to complement traditional and modern interior design.
PURPOSE
Each purchase supports a network of local land owners, sawmills, and fabricators throughout our region. Butcher block adds warmth, depth and sustainability in a fully renewable surface. Ideal for kitchen, bath and laundry room countertops, kitchen island works stations, sit-stand desks, breakfast nook tables, shelves, benches, and other hard working surfaces. Our butcher block countertops have been tested to be compliant with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) v 1-1, 2010 VOC test for voc emissions which can affect indoor air quality. This compliance and local sourcing can aid in helping to achieve a Living Building Challenge (LBC) or LEED project.
PEOPLE
We partner with mills throughout the region to cut and kiln-dry the lumber and manufacture our butcher block material, which supports our local economy and communities.
We DO NOT provide installation, but can refer contractors in the Portland area.
