FSC® Recycled Lumber

PLACE
Every year, more than 500,000 TONS of clean wood are discarded from construction jobsites in Oregon alone. We are partnering with Sankofa Lumber to change that.  Sankofa processes new construction wood waste into reusable, FSC Certified Recycled lumber in Portland Oregon.

PURPOSE
Recycling and reusing this wood waste is climate-smart, storing the embodied carbon when this wood is built back into buildings, reducing the need for new material and supports a local minority woman entrepreneur. Perfect for less than standard length studs in window & door framing, plating, blocking, temporary forms and more. 

PEOPLE
Sankofa is a Minority Woman Owned Business,  whose founder Valerie Carey has a mission to reduce waste, create local jobs and close the loop on a circular economy. She employs a variety of disenfranchised people to give them a leg up, providing training and mentorship, and the skills for a better future.

• 2x4 and 2x6 in  8'+, 10'+ and  12'+   random lengths for plates and studs
• 2x4 and 2x6 sold by the lineal foot in random minimum lengths of  3', 4', 6', 8', 10' 12' - ideal for headers, rough openings, shear wall blocking

ALSO AVAILABLE by Special Order

• Precut blocking at 22-3/8"  for 24" OC construction.
