Sustainable Northwest Wood's Juniper is an Oregon product that supports family-run mills committed to restoring Northwest ecosystems.

Juniper is a native species found through Eastern Oregon.  While juniper contributes to a scenic landscape, years of wildfire supression have allowed it to take over what was formerly a high desert grassland ecosystem.  Its out-of-control population growth and thirst for limited water supplies leads to erosion and a loss of biodiversity.

As a result, many acres of juniper are now being cut as part of a program to restore the grassland ecosystem.  Our juniper is sourced from this program as we work to develop markets for this beautiful, durable, and useful wood while supporting the sawmills in rural communities.

Juniper is characterized by its rustic grain and warm cream and reddish tones.  It performs exceptionally well outside and offers decades of rot- and weather-resistance.  

We stock a large selection of juniper landscape timbers, 2" x 6" decking boards, and live-edge slabs in varying sizes and with exceptional, unique grain patterns.  We also offer custom live-edge and rustic grade mantel pieces and other decorative specialties.
