Big Leaf Maple, also known as Pacific Maple, is so special that musical instrument makers from around the world demand it for beautifully figured guitar bodies.

It is equally well suited for flooring, furniture and cabinet applications.  Colors range from cream to salmon, and the grain often has a depth that gives it a silky or even three-dimensional look.  While higher-grade maple boards are easy to work with and very uniform, many of our customers are drawn to the common boards for the interesting patterns, quilting, and curl.

Big Leaf Maple flourishes in riparian hardwood and softwood forests throughout Washington and Oregon.  Our Big Leaf Maple is carefully removed from private lands in Oregon's Willamette Valley and in South Central Washington.  We then work with small mills to custom cut the trees and produce the grain patterns and colors that we, and our customers, seek.

More than 90% of the Big Leaf Maple we sell comes from FSC certified forests.  The rest is milled from trees individually chosen to yield the highest value possible from a minimum of harvest volume.

We stock Big Leaf Maple tongue & groove flooring, as well as 4/4, 5/4, and 8/4 lumber in a range of grades that can be used for furniture, cabinetry and other interior goods.  We also offer unique and beautifully figured live-edge maple slabs that are perfect for exposed shelving, countertops, bars, and other display surfaces.
