The Western Red Cedar is invaluable to our coastal landscape.  Years of habitual over-harvesting has threatened the delicate balance of the native species of plant and wildlife that are so dependent on these trees.  Responsible stewardship ensures that the old growth and ultimate health of the forest are protected.  See our story below about our current partnership source for FSC Cedar.

SOURCE
Part of our cedar stock comes from the Nature Conservancy's restoration of Ellsworth Creek Preserve, just 120 miles outside of Portland Oregon.  The Nature Conservancy purchased the entire watershed to protect old-growth forest, salmon, amphibians, birds and more. Working with scientists and partners, they are restoring thousands of acres of forest and miles of vital streams.

The Nature Conservancy has developed a comprehensive forest landscape restoration plan that will preserve existing old-growth forest and discover the best ways to restore previously logged stands into functional forests. The results will be shared to ensure that forest managers throughout the Northwest and around the globe benefit from the latest restoration science.
